Just a 30 minute drive from downtown Dunedin is the Aramoana "Mole", a voluntary marine reserve that has 3 purpose-sunk ships that you can dive on! While checking out the innards of these historic hulls, you may be checked out by the local residents, including blue penguins, blue cod, sea lions, conger eels and maybe even a mako if you're lucky!
